MAIN VILLA
The interiors for both the Garden House and the Main Villa are not 100% complete. We have given a detailed list of final snagging jobs to Nigel and Elio at Puglia Estates. Do remember that the Villa will have its "Hard Opening" on the first of January 2012. The time between now and then gives the owners the opportunity to test the Villa before it is a fully operational business. So, when you visit the Villa you will see odd jobs that will need to be done, but we have these all listed and they will be completed soon. As there are 7 owners we have to be diplomatic regarding suggestions. The over riding factors to remember about the design of the Villa and its contents is that it is not a private home, but a business. For this reason some decisions have been made taking this into account in addition to the budget restrictions.

VILLA - UPDATE
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
This is the Villa plan. There are 5 bedrooms which can be made up into either Twins or Doubles. When made up as a Double they are all 6ft by 6ft.
If you are staying at the Villa, please let us know which rooms you would prefer as Twins or Doubles in advance of your stay.
Room 4 is the only bedroom with a bath. The rest have large shower rooms.
You are supplied with Bedroom towels (White) and Pool towels (Wimbledon Green). We have had to tell all visiting guests that there will be a charge for Towels and Bed sheets that are stained by trendy fake tan sun creams - so please remember this when using some tanning creams with dye.
If you have kids staying, Room 2 is good as it has a Dressing Room that can take a cot - allowing the child it's own room off the parents.
POOL
I will post pictures of the pool after this Blog.
Due to the 40' + heat, the pool guys have had to work in the night to get the job done. We hope the water will be turned on and the pool filled around the 2nd of August. Do remember, the pool is new and at the moment the plants have not gone in to create the shaded areas around the pool. So, this year we will be putting bamboo around the pool seating areas to create shade.
The sound system and outside Cinema will not be fitted until the end of August/Early September. I will update you of the progress.

GARDENS
We had a half day meeting with the garden specialist last week. Unfortunately, we are going to have to start a 9 month treatment of the black fungus on all the fruit trees. In addition to this we cannot put the grass under the trees or in the rest of the garden until May next year. At this point the garden flower planting will also be done. So, when you visit the Villa, you will have to imagine the Grass around the Villa! When done it will look great.
The palms also have a Chinese grub infection which also has to be sorted as it is a major issue in the region. So these will be cut back and treated over the next few months.
The gardener has the garden plan and is completing the costing for the final confirmation for the exact planting. It will look great in 12 months - but we have to hang in there until the treatments have been completed. The planing also includes the growing plants an vines around the pool area.

Annabel Moorsom - The Sound of Puglia
No it's not nuns - it's tambourines, tarantella and more - it's Pizzica music.
At The Barbican this month you can get a taste of Pizzica, also known as Taranta, the sound of the Italian south.
